Description
What Is DSIP?
DSIP (Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide) is a naturally occurring neuropeptide first isolated from the cerebral venous blood of rabbits during slow-wave sleep in 1977. This nine-amino acid peptide is found primarily in the brain, with the highest concentrations in the hypothalamus and limbic structures – the regions that govern sleep regulation, stress response, and hormonal balance.
Named for its ability to promote delta wave sleep (the deepest, most restorative stage of the sleep cycle), DSIP doesn’t act as a sedative. Instead, it modulates sleep architecture at the neurochemical level, increasing the proportion of time spent in deep sleep without altering total sleep duration. The result is sleep that is genuinely more restorative – you wake up feeling more recovered even if you sleep the same number of hours.
How DSIP Improves Sleep Quality
- Delta wave enhancement: DSIP promotes the transition into and extends the duration of N3 (slow-wave/deep) sleep – the stage where growth hormone is released, tissues are repaired, memories are consolidated, and the immune system is restored.
- Cortisol modulation: DSIP reduces elevated cortisol levels, particularly the nighttime cortisol spikes that disrupt sleep architecture and cause frequent awakenings. By normalising the cortisol rhythm, it helps restore the natural cortisol curve (low at night, rising in the morning).
- LH and growth hormone support: DSIP has been shown to promote luteinising hormone (LH) release and support growth hormone secretion during sleep – both of which are critical for recovery, body composition, and hormonal health.
- Stress and pain modulation: Beyond sleep, DSIP acts on endorphin systems and has demonstrated analgesic (pain-reducing) properties. Chronic pain sufferers often report improved sleep and reduced pain perception during DSIP use.
- No sedation or dependency: Unlike benzodiazepines, Z-drugs, or even high-dose melatonin, DSIP does not cause sedation, morning grogginess, tolerance buildup, or withdrawal symptoms. It works by optimising your natural sleep mechanisms rather than overriding them.
Who Should Consider DSIP?
DSIP is ideal for individuals who sleep enough hours but wake up feeling unrested (poor sleep quality), those with stress-related sleep disruption and elevated nighttime cortisol, shift workers or travellers with disrupted circadian rhythms, chronic pain sufferers whose pain interferes with sleep, and athletes seeking to maximise recovery through enhanced deep sleep and growth hormone release.

Dosing guide
Category-Specific Dosing Guides
DSIP is typically administered once daily before bedtime.
-
1
Reconstitute
Add 2ml of BAC water to the 5mg vial (2.5mg/ml = 2,500mcg/ml). Each 4 units on a U-100 syringe equals 100mcg. One vial provides approximately 16-50 doses, depending on the amount administered.
-
2
Timing & Dosage
Injection of 100-300mcg subcutaneously should be done 30-60 minutes before the intended bedtime. The first dose should begin at 100mcg but may be increased to 200-300mcg if appropriate. Anyone looking to buy DSIP online will likely come across dosing ranges between 100mcg and 300mcg.
-
3
Cycle
Run for 2-4 weeks, then take 2 weeks off. Cycles are commonly repeated following the 2-week break period. DSIP is commonly discussed in relation to sleep architecture and circadian physiology during these protocols.

Sleep rose 59% in the 130 minutes after a DSIP dose
In the first human study, healthy volunteers slept 59% more after a DSIP infusion than after placebo. Tests showed no sedation in the classic drug sense.

24% longer maximum lifespan in mice
Mice got a DSIP preparation 5 days a month from 3 months of age until death. Maximum lifespan was 24.1% longer than with saline, and chromosome damage in bone marrow cells fell 22.6%. Average lifespan did not change.
Popovich et al., Mechanisms of Ageing and Development, 2003Sleep efficiency reached normal levels
Middle-aged adults with chronic insomnia got DSIP for 7 nights in a double-blind, placebo-controlled trial. Night sleep improved from the first dose. Sleep efficiency reached the level of normal sleepers and daytime alertness rose.
Schneider-Helmert, European Neurology, 19876 of 7 still sleeping normally months later
Patients got a series of 10 DSIP injections. In all but one, sleep stayed normal for 3 to 7 months of follow-up. Mood and daytime performance also improved.
Kaeser, European Neurology, 1984Lower ACTH for at least 3 hours
One DSIP dose lowered ACTH, the hormone that triggers the stress response, for at least 3 hours compared with saline. Cortisol kept its normal daily pattern.
